Stu Waddel - Founder & Director, Urban GuideI’ve lived in Christchurch for over 20 years, and cycling in Christchurch City for me started as a laugh on my first vintage Raleigh bike, Stu’s Blue, built with simplicity and bright colours. Like any good collector, my latest bike was irresistible, a sleek silver Felt electric cargo bike - The Bruhaul. Seeing people ride an electric bike for the first time is awesome, the smile a give away. It's a game changer for getting about and good reason to come a try one @ Chill, hire or buy. Our urban bike tours are a great way to find secret spots in Christchurch, indulge in good food and activities on offer, and share the ride with others. I enjoy showing people about, sharing my story of life living and working in the city, and hearing about other people’s passion for traveling on two wheels. In winter the mountains are calling, and new snow on the ground the best tonic for sharing the passion of Chill - Explore With Us.
Adam Somogyi - Chill Adventurer & Bike Mechanic"Those who wish to control their own lives and move beyond existence as mere clients and consumers - those people ride a bike." ~Wolfgang Sachs Being a lifelong bike enthusiast, I was always keen to learn more about bikes; I wanted to know how they work, what they are made of, how they are so simple yet so complicated, and most importantly, I was desperate to know why is it that there are still people on this planet who don’t ride one?!? Having worked in the bike industry for nearly a decade helped me answer most of these questions but I still think that more people should be riding and my mission is to make the world a better place, one cyclist at a time. Keen to be next?
Nicole Montgomery - Chill AdventurerIt all started with a Study Abroad trip to New Zealand in 2014 that sparked my love with this country. Ever since, I have found creative and exciting ways to make my way back to New Zealand, having spent the last 4 years chasing winters between New Zealand and Colorado. My passion for skiing and biking has followed me all over the world and has landed me in Christchurch, New Zealand. My favorite thing about living in Christchurch is getting to ride my bike to work and therefore having time to spend outside that most people don't get day to day. I am excited to continue to explore this beautiful country on two wheels and two planks.

Cold Weather stings face
Legs ache with each pedal stroke
Still beats a car ride
Glen Tregurtha - Urban Guide
Glen is a local entrepreneur and a passionate advocate for Christchurch. Born and raised in the city, he’s travelled extensively around the world but keeps returning to the city he calls home. An avid cyclist, Glen loves how the bike tours allow us to get up close and personal with the developing architecture, urban design, and public art.
Glen has an in depth knowledge of the city – where it’s come from, and where it’s going. His unwavering optimism for the city is infectious and you’ll no doubt end the tour as excited about this place as he is.
Clare Hastings - Urban Guide
Having lived and attended School within the 4 Avenues (Old City Belt) and also working in Cathedral Square 20+ years I am always enthusiastic to show everyone our fascinating City. Being a flat city and with all the cycle lanes now provided it gives freedom to explore easily by bike. Many new buildings, parks, reinstated lanes and numerous restaurants make for an emerging fresh city after our devastating earthquakes of 2011 but we also have a great many years of heritage.
Having taken a cycle tour 10 years ago in Paris I thought “I can do this at home – I know and love my city” so consequently I have been a guide now for nine years and loving every minute sharing my knowledge with everyone.
