Stay in Methven, or right at the helipad for some high-country hospitality at Glenfalloch or Lake Heron stations
In 1986 Methven Heliski opened and changed the face of New Zealand heliskiing.
Methven Heli operates from the helipad at high-country farm Glenfalloch Station, deep in the Arrowsmiths mountain range.
Only 2 hours from Christchurch, Methven Heli has arguably the best range of heliski terrain in NZ. Space abounds, with 250+ named runs across the Arrowsmith, Ragged, and Palmer Ranges. Groups rarely cross lines after leaving the helipad, only meeting up for a delicious lunch, or drinks at the end of the day.
The terrain delivers what you’d expect from a world-class operation: glaciated runs, big views of both the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea, and mind-bending drops exceeding 1,000 vertical metres. There are plenty of lines for experts and no end of mid-range and strong-intermediate options.
